Responsibilities
- Provide Exceptional Patient Care: Greet patients warmly upon arrival and ensure a welcoming atmosphere in the reception area.
- Manage Communications: Answer multi-line phones professionally, screen calls, and route messages to the appropriate medical staff promptly.
- Coordinate Appointments: Schedule patient appointments via phone and in-person, ensuring the provider schedule is optimized and organized.
- Handle Administrative Tasks: Verify patient insurance coverage, explain benefits, and collect co-pays or payments as needed.
- Update Records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records using our Electronic Health Records (EHR) system.
- Assist with Patient Flow: Monitor the waiting area, notify providers of patient arrivals, and facilitate a smooth check-in and check-out process.
- Support Clinic Operations: Assist with inventory management and general office duties to ensure the clinic runs efficiently.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Experience: Previous experience in a medical receptionist or front desk role is preferred.
- Technical Proficiency: Must be comfortable with computers and have experience using Electronic Health Records (EHR) software.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on professionalism and patient confidentiality.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to interact positively with patients of all ages and backgrounds.
- Flexibility: Must be willing to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekends, to meet patient needs.
