Responsibilities
- Manage the front desk operations, including check-in and check-out processes for patients.
- Verify patient insurance information and complete necessary paperwork accurately and efficiently.
- Schedule patient appointments using the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Answer incoming calls, manage patient inquiries, and route messages to appropriate staff members promptly.
- Collect copays and process payments securely.
- Maintain and update patient records with current and accurate information.
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure a seamless patient experience.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Medical Receptionist certification is a plus.
- Previous experience in a medical front desk or administrative role preferred.
- Proficiency with computer systems and EMR software (e.g., Athenahealth, Epic).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm in a busy, fast-paced environment.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and insurance verification processes.
