Responsibilities
- Process and submit clean medical claims to insurance companies and patients
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits
- Resolve claim denials and appeals efficiently
- Maintain accurate patient billing records and documentation
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance and healthcare regulations
- Communicate effectively with providers, patients, and payers
- Utilize billing software (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth) for claim submission
- Conduct regular audits to ensure billing accuracy
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of medical billing experience
- Certification (CPC, CPC-A, or CPB) preferred
- Proficiency in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding
- Strong knowledge of insurance claim processes
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems
