Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care: Monitor patient vitals, administer medications, and assist with daily living activities as prescribed by physicians.
- Assess patient needs: Conduct thorough initial and ongoing assessments to identify changes in patient condition and respond promptly.
- Document patient information: Accurately record patient history, symptoms, and care plans in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team: Communicate effectively with physicians, therapists, and other staff to ensure holistic patient treatment.
- Support patient education: Educate patients and families on treatment plans, disease management, and post-discharge care instructions.
- Ensure safety and hygiene: Adhere to strict infection control protocols and maintain a clean, safe patient environment.
- Participate in quality improvement: Engage in unit rounds and contribute to initiatives that enhance patient outcomes and staff efficiency.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program. Graduation within the last 12 months is preferred.
- Licensure: Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the Florida Board of Nursing (or compact state license eligible).
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred (will be provided during orientation).
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with patients of all backgrounds.
- Technical Proficiency: Basic computer skills and comfort with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Professionalism: Strong critical thinking skills, emotional intelligence, and a genuine passion for patient advocacy.
