Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) under the supervision of registered nurses and charge nurses.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiratory rate, reporting any abnormalities immediately.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments in strict accordance with hospital protocols and the five rights of medication administration.
- Document patient care activities, observations, and responses to treatment accurately and timely in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Communicate clearly with patients and families to provide education, reassurance, and emotional support during their hospital stay.
- Participate in hospital orientation, safety drills, and continuing education requirements to maintain clinical competencies.
Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program.
- Current, active, and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Florida.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification required at time of hire.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred (training available).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, families, and staff.
- Demonstrated compassion, empathy, and a strong commitment to patient safety and advocacy.
- Willingness to be flexible with shift schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to meet patient care needs.
