Responsibilities

  • Patient Assessment & Care: Conduct comprehensive initial and ongoing assessments of patient health status and document findings accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Medication Administration: safely administer prescribed medications and treatments while adhering to strict safety protocols and time-out procedures.
  • Vital Sign Monitoring: Continuously monitor patient vital signs and hemodynamic parameters, alerting the healthcare team to any significant changes.
  • Collaborative Care: Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Patient & Family Education: Educate patients and their families on disease processes, treatment options, and discharge instructions to promote health literacy and self-management.
  • Emergency Response: Respond promptly to medical emergencies within the unit, demonstrating critical thinking and quick decision-making skills.

Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program (ADN or BSN) with a concentration in Nursing.
  • Licensure: Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the Nevada State Board of Nursing.
