Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment & Care: Conduct comprehensive initial and ongoing assessments of patient health status and document findings accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Medication Administration: safely administer prescribed medications and treatments while adhering to strict safety protocols and time-out procedures.
- Vital Sign Monitoring: Continuously monitor patient vital signs and hemodynamic parameters, alerting the healthcare team to any significant changes.
- Collaborative Care: Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Patient & Family Education: Educate patients and their families on disease processes, treatment options, and discharge instructions to promote health literacy and self-management.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to medical emergencies within the unit, demonstrating critical thinking and quick decision-making skills.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program (ADN or BSN) with a concentration in Nursing.
- Licensure: Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the Nevada State Board of Nursing.
- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required (can be obtained during orientation).
- Experience: Zero prior clinical experience required. Must be a recent graduate (within 12 months of graduation).
- Soft Skills: Strong communication skills, empathy, attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
