Responsibilities
- Monitor patient vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, and report any abnormalities to the charge nurse.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect.
- Provide basic nursing care, including wound care and catheter care, as delegated by the RN.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation in the electronic health record system.
- Communicate effectively with the healthcare team, patients, and families to ensure continuity of care.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for patients at all times.
- Respond promptly to patient call lights and emergency situations.
Qualifications
- Current Louisiana CNA (STNA) certification and in good standing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Must be able to work the night shift (typically 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift patients as needed.
- Strong compassion for the elderly and sick population.
