Responsibilities
- Perform clinical duties including patient intake, vital sign monitoring, EKGs, and specimen collection
- Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and minor surgical interventions
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems ensuring accurate documentation
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed under provider supervision
- Maintain sterile exam environments and inventory of medical supplies
- Coordinate patient flow and communication between departments during overnight hours
- Implement infection control protocols and emergency response procedures
Qualifications
- Current California Medical Assistant certification (CMA or RMA)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in a fast-paced healthcare setting
- Valid BLS/CPR certification with ability to maintain
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic or experience preferred)
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance and medical terminology
- Ability to work independently and make critical decisions during overnight shifts
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as required
- Phlebotomy and EKG certification strongly preferred
