Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients during overnight hours with emphasis on critical assessment and intervention
- Administer medications and treatments accurately while maintaining detailed patient records
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans
- Respond to emergency situations with calm professionalism and decisive action
- Maintain infection control protocols and safety standards throughout shift
- Supervise LPN/CNA staff and delegate tasks effectively
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Texas (or compact state)
- Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- BSN preferred or commitment to obtain within 12 months
- Strong critical thinking and emergency response skills
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities
- Ability to work independently during overnight hours
- Flexibility to adapt to changing patient acuity levels
