Responsibilities
- Prepare Operating Rooms: Set up surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies to ensure a sterile and safe environment for procedures.
- Assist Surgeons: Pass instruments and materials to surgeons and registered nurses during operations, anticipating their needs.
- Patient Care: Monitor and prepare patients for surgery, ensuring their safety and comfort before and after procedures.
- Instrument Sterilization: Properly clean, disinfect, and sterilize all surgical instruments and equipment used during operations.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of surgical procedures and patient information as required by hospital policy.
- Stock Management: Monitor inventory levels of surgical supplies and restock as needed to ensure continuity of care.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience: No prior experience required. We are looking for candidates eager to learn and willing to undergo training.
- Skills: Basic computer skills and the ability to learn medical terminology.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights.
- Personal Attributes: Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Availability: Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, is preferred.
