Responsibilities
- Draw Blood: Perform venipunctures and capillary collections using proper aseptic techniques.
- Patient Interaction: Comfort patients and explain procedures to reduce anxiety and ensure cooperation.
- Data Entry: Accurately log patient information, test orders, and specimen details into laboratory systems.
- Specimen Handling: Label, process, and transport specimens to the lab for analysis while adhering to chain-of-custody protocols.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain a clean, sterile work environment and sanitize phlebotomy equipment daily.
- Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations, HIPAA guidelines, and company policies.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree preferred but not mandatory.
- Training: Must be willing to enroll in and complete our paid certification program upon hire.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient care.
- Physical: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive motions.
- Technical: Basic computer literacy and typing proficiency.
- Background: Must pass a background check and drug screening.
