Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect.
- Vital Signs: Monitor and record patient vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates as directed by the nursing staff.
- Hygiene & Comfort: Ensure patients are clean, comfortable, and positioned correctly to prevent bedsores.
- Documentation: Accurately document patient care activities, changes in condition, and any incidents in the electronic medical record (EMR) in a timely manner.
- Communication: Effectively communicate patient needs and concerns to registered nurses and charge nurses.
- Safety: Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control procedures to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current and active Indiana State CNA license required.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience: Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred but not always required for the right candidate.
- Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift patients, and perform physical tasks as needed.
