Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including bathing, dressing, and feeding assistance, to ensure the highest level of comfort and hygiene.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates, reporting any abnormalities immediately to the nursing staff.
- Assist patients with mobility issues, including transferring them to and from beds, wheelchairs, and using Hoyer lifts safely.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment in accordance with infection control protocols and healthcare standards.
- Document daily care activities and patient observations accurately in electronic health records (EHR).
- Support patients' emotional well-being by providing companionship and a friendly, professional demeanor.
Qualifications
- Current, active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license issued by the State of Texas.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required (or willing to obtain).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients of all ages.
- Physical stamina to perform heavy lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Valid Texas driver's license and reliable transportation (if applicable for travel to satellite locations).
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Compassionate nature with a strong commitment to patient advocacy and quality care.
