Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during procedures including restorative treatments, extractions, and orthodontic applications
- Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain strict OSHA compliance protocols
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) with precision and patient comfort
- Manage patient flow, schedule coordination, and digital charting using Eaglesoft software
- Provide chairside assistance during complex procedures and emergency cases
- Educate patients on post-treatment care and oral hygiene best practices
- Inventory management of dental supplies and ordering materials as needed
Qualifications
- Current Ohio Dental Assistant certification (DANB or state equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in general dentistry setting
- Proficiency in dental radiography and infection control procedures
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to create rapport with anxious patients
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and electronic health records systems
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends (including Saturdays)
- CPR certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)
- Attention to detail with excellent organizational abilities
