Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorative, orthodontic, and cosmetic treatments
- Perform dental radiography (X-rays) with digital imaging systems
- Manage infection control protocols and instrument sterilization following OSHA standards
- Prepare treatment rooms, materials, and equipment for optimal efficiency
- Take accurate dental impressions and pour study models
- Educate patients on post-operative care and oral hygiene techniques
- Maintain digital patient records and manage appointment scheduling
- Collaborate with specialists to ensure seamless multi-disciplinary care
Qualifications
- Current Dental Assistant certification (DALECC or DANB preferred)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in general or specialty dentistry
- Active radiography license for District of Columbia
- Proficiency in digital imaging software (Dentrix/Eaglesoft a plus)
- Strong knowledge of infection control protocols and OSHA compliance
- Exceptional patient communication and chairside manner
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- CPR certification (BLS for Healthcare Providers)
