Responsibilities
- Process and submit clean claims to insurance companies and government payers
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits
- Resolve claim denials and underpayments through appeals
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and billing standards
- Analyze aging reports and follow up on outstanding accounts
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure accurate coding
- Utilize Epic and NextGen EHR systems for billing operations
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in outpatient/ambulatory settings
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Proficiency in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding
- Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer policies
- Experience with claim scrubbing software (e.g., ClaimLogic, EncoderPro)
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
