Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during procedures including exams, fillings, extractions, and restorative work
- Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain inventory of dental supplies
- Take dental X-rays and develop radiographs following safety protocols
- Manage patient records using digital dental software (Epic experience preferred)
- Provide post-operative instructions and educate patients on oral hygiene
- Coordinate appointment scheduling and handle patient inquiries with professionalism
- Ensure strict compliance with OSHA and HIPAA regulations
Qualifications
- Active California Dental Assistant certification (RDA or DA license)
- Minimum 1 year experience in general dentistry setting
- Proficiency in dental imaging equipment (X-rays, intraoral cameras)
- CPR certification and BLS training
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology and procedures
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in fast-paced environment
- Experience with digital charting (Epic, Dentrix, or similar)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
