Responsibilities
- Review and verify medical records to ensure accuracy before submitting claims to insurance payers.
- Process medical claims electronically and manually using clearinghouse software.
- Analyze denied claims and resubmit appeals with supporting documentation.
- Manage accounts receivable (AR) and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Stay current with changing healthcare regulations, payer policies, and coding updates (ICD-10, CPT).
- Maintain precise patient and insurance records in the EHR system.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree in Medical Billing or Healthcare Administration preferred.
- Experience with medical billing software (e.g., Epic, Cerner) and clearinghouse systems.
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist (CMRS) is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding guidelines.
- Excellent analytical skills with a high attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
