Responsibilities
- Personal Care Assistance: Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Medication Management: Remind clients to take prescribed medications on time and report any changes or side effects to the nursing staff.
- Meal Preparation: Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary restrictions and assist with feeding if necessary.
- Companionship & Mobility: Provide friendly conversation and emotional support. Help clients with mobility, transfers, and walking assistance.
- Household Support: Perform light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, changing linens, and cleaning the client's living area.
- Documentation: Accurately record daily activities and vital signs in the patient's care plan log.
- Transportation: Accompany clients to medical appointments, therapy sessions, or social outings.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Certification: Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Home Health Aide (HHA) certification is preferred but not required for exceptional candidates willing to train.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Driver's License: Valid Alaska Driver’s License and reliable personal transportation.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Background Check: Must pass a background check and drug screening.
