Responsibilities
- Assist physicians during patient examinations and minor procedures
- Take accurate patient histories and vital signs
- Prepare exam rooms and sterilize medical instruments
- Perform basic lab tests (EKG, phlebotomy, urinalysis)
- Manage patient records using EHR systems (Epic experience preferred)
- Administer injections and medications under physician supervision
- Schedule appointments and handle patient communications
Qualifications
- Current Texas Medical Assistant certification (CMA/RMA)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in ambulatory care
- BLS/CPR certification (maintained)
- Proficiency in medical terminology and HIPAA compliance
- Ability to multitask in high-volume settings
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Flexibility to work evenings/weekends (10-20 hrs/week)
