Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, including vital sign measurements and medical history documentation
- Assist providers with clinical procedures and maintain sterile exam environments
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems with precision and confidentiality
- Coordinate patient flow, scheduling, and communication across departments
- Perform basic laboratory tests, including phlebotomy and specimen processing
- Administer medications and immunizations under provider supervision
- Manage inventory of medical supplies and equipment
Qualifications
- Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) required
- New York State medical assistant license preferred
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in ambulatory care setting
- Proficiency with EHR systems (Epic/Meditech experience preferred)
- CPR/BLS certification from accredited provider
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to multitask efficiently in high-volume environments
- Strong attention to detail and HIPAA compliance knowledge
