Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and document medical histories accurately
- Assist physicians with clinical procedures including injections, wound care, and EKGs
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems ensuring HIPAA compliance and data integrity
- Perform phlebotomy and basic laboratory procedures following strict protocols
- Administer medications under physician supervision and monitor patient responses
- Coordinate patient flow, schedule appointments, and handle administrative tasks efficiently
- Maintain sterile exam environments and inventory of medical supplies
Qualifications
- Active Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) required
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in a hospital or urgent care setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, or similar)
- BLS/CPR certification and phlebotomy skills
- Strong communication abilities with diverse patient populations
- Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical workflows
- Ability to multitask effectively in fast-paced environments
- North Carolina state license in good standing
