Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and document medical histories accurately
- Assist physicians with clinical procedures and administer medications as directed
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems ensuring data integrity and confidentiality
- Perform basic lab tests, including phlebotomy and specimen processing
- Schedule patient appointments and coordinate referrals with specialists
- Maintain clean, organized exam rooms and sterilize medical equipment
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
Qualifications
- Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA or RMA) from accredited institution
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in ambulatory care setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth)
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Strong communication skills and ability to multitask in fast-paced environments
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Valid Texas state medical assistant license
