Responsibilities
- Assist physicians with clinical procedures including patient examinations, immunizations, and wound care
- Perform vital sign monitoring, EKGs, phlebotomy, and point-of-care testing
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems ensuring accurate documentation
- Sterilize equipment and maintain clean, organized exam rooms
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
- Handle administrative tasks including appointment scheduling and insurance verification
- Collaborate with healthcare team to ensure seamless patient flow
Qualifications
- Active Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or CCMA)
- New York State Medical Assistant license
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in ambulatory care setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic or NextGen preferred)
- Strong communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to work flexible shifts including evenings and weekends
