Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examination by reviewing their medical history and recording vital signs accurately.
- Assist physicians and nurses during medical procedures, examinations, and minor surgeries.
- Administer injections, medications, and perform basic lab tests (e.g., blood draws) under strict supervision.
- Manage patient intake, update electronic health records (EHR), and ensure full compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Coordinate appointment schedules, answer phone inquiries, and provide exceptional customer service to patients.
- Provide patient education regarding medications, treatments, and preventative care plans.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sterile clinical environment at all times.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification is required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a medical office or clinic setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and clinical procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-first approach.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic healthcare environment.
- Proficiency with electronic health record systems (Epic, Athenahealth, or similar) is a plus.
