Responsibilities
- Patient Intake: Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and update medical records accurately.
- Vital Signs: Measure and record patient vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration) as ordered by the provider.
- Assistance: Assist providers during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow in the treatment rooms.
- Administrative Duties: Manage patient scheduling, answer phones, and handle correspondence with professionalism.
- Phlebotomy & Injections: Perform blood draws and administer injections/immunizations following strict safety protocols.
- Lab Work: Collect and process laboratory specimens for analysis.
- Infection Control: Maintain a clean, sterile environment and adhere to OSHA and HIPAA guidelines.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or CMAA) required.
- Licensure: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Experience: 1-2 years of clinical experience in a medical office or urgent care setting preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient privacy.
- Compassion: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact empathetically with patients of all ages.
