Responsibilities
- Patient Intake: Greet patients, verify insurance and demographic information, and prepare them for examination.
- Clinical Support: Assist physicians and advanced practice providers during examinations and minor procedures.
- Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Lab Duties: Perform basic laboratory tests, including blood draws and urinalysis, strictly adhering to safety protocols.
- Medication Support: Prepare and administer medications and injections as directed by the provider.
- Documentation: Update and maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) and patient charts.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Certifications: Current CMA (AAMA) or RMA (AMT) certification preferred; BLS certification required.
- Experience: Previous experience in a hospital or clinical setting is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
