Responsibilities
- Accurately code medical diagnoses and procedures using CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 systems
- Submit clean claims to commercial insurance companies and government payers
- Manage denial resolution and appeals processes
- Conduct insurance eligibility verification and patient collections
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and healthcare regulations
- Generate monthly reports on key performance metrics
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure documentation accuracy
Qualifications
- 2+ years of medical billing experience in a clinical setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC credential required
- Proficiency in Epic, Athena, or NextGen EHR systems
- Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer policies
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
