Responsibilities
- Process and submit clean claims to insurance payers (Medicare, Medicaid, commercial)
- Verify patient eligibility and benefits prior to service delivery
- Appeal denied claims with supporting documentation
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations
- Resolve patient billing inquiries with empathy and accuracy
- Analyze aging reports to optimize cash flow
- Collaborate with clinical teams on charge entry corrections
Qualifications
- 2+ years medical billing experience (physician practice preferred)
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Mastery of CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS coding
- Expertise in Epic or NextGen EHR systems
- Strong knowledge of Virginia Medicaid/Medicare policies
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
