Responsibilities
- Review and verify medical records to ensure accurate coding and billing.
- Submit claims to insurance payers (Blue Cross, Aetna, United, etc.) electronically.
- Follow up on denied or unpaid claims to maximize revenue.
- Manage patient invoicing and financial statements.
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA privacy regulations and compliance standards.
- Collaborate with the billing team to resolve discrepancies efficiently.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Medical Billing/Coding preferred.
- Certification (CPC, CIMA, or RHIA) is a plus.
- 2+ years of experience in medical billing or healthcare revenue cycle.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, or AthenaHealth).
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
