Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage prescription processing workflow including data entry and verification
- Provide exceptional patient counseling on medication usage and potential side effects
- Maintain inventory control and ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations
- Utilize pharmacy software for prescription tracking and insurance processing
- Support HIPAA-compliant record-keeping and documentation
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve medication inquiries
Qualifications
- Active NY Pharmacy Technician certification required
- Minimum 1 year retail or hospital pharmacy experience preferred
- Proficiency in pharmacy management systems (e.g., QS1, Omnicell)
- Strong attention to detail with proven accuracy in prescription handling
- Excellent communication skills for patient interactions
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
