Responsibilities
- Medication Preparation: Assist the supervising pharmacist in the accurate dispensing of prescription medications, including compounding and packaging.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with patients to answer questions, provide medication counseling, and ensure a positive pharmacy experience.
- Administrative Support: Verify patient information, process insurance claims, and maintain accurate patient records.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, organize the pharmacy storage areas, and place orders for pharmaceutical supplies.
- Compliance: Adhere to all state and federal laws, including HIPAA regulations and safety protocols, ensuring a safe environment for staff and patients.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or ExCPT) required.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience: 1+ years of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting preferred.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent math skills, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Communication: Proven ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
