Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections across diverse patient demographics
- Ensure accurate specimen handling, labeling, and processing per HIPAA/JCAHO standards
- Maintain sterile techniques and infection control protocols
- Operate automated lab equipment (analyzers, centrifuges)
- Document patient data and maintain electronic health records
- Provide patient education on procedures and aftercare
- Collaborate with physicians and lab staff for efficient workflow
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, NHA, or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical phlebotomy experience
- BLS/CPR certification
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and CLIA regulations
- Excellent venipuncture skills with minimal callbacks
- Ability to work efficiently in high-volume settings
- Compassionate patient interaction skills
- Valid NC driver's license and reliable transportation
