Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood draws with precision and minimal patient discomfort.
- Prepare, label, and log blood specimens accurately for laboratory testing.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, infection control measures, and HIPAA regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized phlebotomy workstation and equipment.
- Interact professionally with patients of all ages, explaining procedures and alleviating anxiety.
- Assist with inventory management of blood collection supplies and reagents.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent certification required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Valid California driver’s license (if required for on-site support).
