Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, capillary draws, and specialized blood collection techniques
- Process, label, and transport specimens to laboratories with strict adherence to protocols
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA
- Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of phlebotomy equipment
- Provide patient education on procedures and address concerns with empathy
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient flow and efficiency
- Adhere to all OSHA safety standards and infection control procedures
Qualifications
- Current Texas Phlebotomy Technician certification (or equivalent)
- Minimum 6 months of clinical phlebotomy experience
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with ability to calm anxious patients
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive motions
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed
- Proficient in EHR documentation systems
