Responsibilities
- Perform accurate venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures
- Process and label specimens according to HIPAA and CLIA standards
- Maintain sterile equipment and infection control protocols
- Verify patient identification and prepare lab requisitions
- Utilize LIS systems for specimen tracking and documentation
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure timely sample processing
- Train patients on pre-test procedures and post-care instructions
Qualifications
- Current Minnesota Phlebotomy Technician certification
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in venipuncture
- Excellent venipuncture skills with pediatric and geriatric populations
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and laboratory safety protocols
- Ability to work efficiently in high-volume settings
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
