Responsibilities
- Perform accurate venipuncture and capillary blood draws across diverse patient demographics
- Ensure proper specimen handling, labeling, and processing per CLIA/HIPAA guidelines
- Maintain sterile techniques and infection control protocols
- Verify patient identification and prepare requisition documentation
- Operate centrifuges and point-of-care testing equipment
- Collaborate with lab staff to resolve specimen discrepancies
- Provide patient education during blood collection procedures
Qualifications
- Current Texas Phlebotomy Technician certification (required)
- Minimum 1 year clinical phlebotomy experience
- BLS/CPR certification (or obtain within 30 days)
- Proficient in specimen processing protocols
- Exceptional communication and patient interaction skills
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced settings
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Flexible availability including weekend/evening shifts
