Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws with precision and minimal patient discomfort
- Process and label specimens according to strict laboratory protocols
- Maintain accurate patient records and specimen documentation
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and transportation of blood samples
- Adhere to OSHA and CLIA compliance standards at all times
- Provide patient education during blood collection procedures
- Collaborate with healthcare team to optimize patient flow
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, NCCT, or equivalent)
- Minimum 6 months clinical phlebotomy experience
- Valid Michigan Phlebotomy Technician license
- Excellent venipuncture skills with all age groups
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends
- Pass background check and drug screening
