Responsibilities
- Collect blood specimens using venipuncture and capillary techniques
- Process and prepare samples for laboratory analysis
- Maintain accurate patient records and specimen labeling
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and HIPAA regulations
- Provide patient education during blood draw procedures
- Calibrate and maintain phlebotomy equipment
- Collaborate with lab staff for specimen processing workflows
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP or equivalent)
- Minimum 6 months clinical experience
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Excellent venipuncture skills with minimal discomfort
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
- Ability to work 20-25 hours/week with flexible scheduling
- Basic computer proficiency for EMR systems
