Responsibilities
- Perform accurate venipuncture and capillary blood collections following strict protocols
- Label, process, and transport specimens to the lab with meticulous attention to detail
- Maintain sterile equipment and work areas per OSHA and CLIA standards
- Provide exceptional patient care, explaining procedures and addressing concerns
- Verify patient identities and maintain confidential medical records
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless workflow
- Document all procedures accurately in electronic health records (EHR)
Qualifications
- Current California Phlebotomy Technician certification (CPT1 or CPT2)
- Minimum 1 year of clinical phlebotomy experience
- BLS/CPR certification from a recognized provider
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with ability to calm anxious patients
- Proficiency in EHR systems and specimen tracking software
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to HIPAA compliance
- Flexible availability including weekends and evenings
