Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections with precision and care
- Process and label specimens according to HIPAA guidelines
- Maintain accurate patient records and electronic documentation
- Ensure proper specimen handling and storage protocols
- Calibrate and maintain phlebotomy equipment
- Provide patient education on pre-test procedures
- Collaborate with lab and clinical teams for seamless workflow
Qualifications
- Valid NYS Phlebotomy Technician certification (required)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience preferred
- BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Excellent venipuncture skills with minimal callbacks
- Strong attention to detail and infection control knowledge
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Compassionate communication skills with diverse patients
