Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws across diverse patient populations
- Process and label specimens with 100% accuracy following HIPAA/GMP protocols
- Maintain sterile workstations and calibrated equipment
- Verify patient identity and document collection details in EHR systems
- Collaborate with lab staff for specimen transport and quality control
- Provide patient education on pre-test preparations
- Adhere to OSHA safety standards and waste management protocols
Qualifications
- Active NC Phlebotomy Technician certification (or equivalent)
- Minimum 6 months clinical phlebotomy experience
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Proficiency in blood culture, pediatric, and difficult draw techniques
- Exceptional communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Experience with Epic/Cerner EMR systems preferred
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
