Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, capillary draws, and specialized blood collection procedures with precision and care
- Verify patient identity, prepare specimens for lab testing, and maintain accurate documentation
- Ensure strict adherence to OSHA safety protocols, HIPAA compliance, and infection control standards
- Provide exceptional patient communication, explaining procedures and addressing concerns with empathy
- Manage specimen processing, labeling, and transportation to testing facilities
- Collaborate with medical staff to optimize patient flow and service quality
- Maintain clean, organized workstations and equipment calibration
Qualifications
- Current Colorado Phlebotomy Technician certification or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year clinical phlebotomy experience in a fast-paced setting
- BLS/CPR certification required (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Demonstrated proficiency in venipuncture techniques and pediatric collections
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with ability to comfort anxious patients
- Strong attention to detail with proven specimen handling accuracy
- Ability to work independently while collaborating within multidisciplinary teams
- Flexible availability including weekday/evening shifts
