Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary draws efficiently and accurately with minimal patient discomfort.
- Prepare and label blood specimens for laboratory analysis according to strict protocols.
- Ensure strict adherence to infection control and safety procedures at all times.
- Greet patients, explain procedures, and maintain a professional, welcoming demeanor.
- Update and maintain accurate patient records and medical histories in the EHR system.
- Assist with inventory management of phlebotomy supplies and equipment.
- Collaborate with laboratory staff and healthcare providers to ensure timely processing of samples.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Phlebotomy Technician (CPT, ASPT, NHA) or equivalent experience.
- Current, unrestricted Arizona Phlebotomy License.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient comfort.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high attention to detail.
- Proficient in using computer systems for data entry and patient management.
