Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in medical-surgical units with focus on chronic disease management
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders with precise documentation
- Monitor patient vitals and respond to changes in clinical status using critical thinking
- Coordinate care transitions with multidisciplinary teams for seamless patient flow
- Educate patients and families on discharge planning and home care protocols
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and hospital safety standards
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and process optimization
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Texas (or compact license with quick endorsement)
- BSN degree required; MSN preferred
- Minimum 2 years acute care experience in medical-surgical setting
- BLS and ACLS certifications required (TNCC preferred)
- Proficiency in Epic EMR system with strong documentation skills
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks in fast-paced environments
- Excellent communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
