Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in medical-surgical units with emphasis on assessment, medication administration, and treatment coordination
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Document patient encounters accurately in Epic EHR systems while maintaining HIPAA compliance
- Monitor vital signs, interpret diagnostic results, and respond to emergent situations per ACLS protocols
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders with precise dosage calculations
- Provide patient education on disease management, discharge planning, and preventive care
- Maintain sterile techniques and infection control standards in all clinical procedures
Qualifications
- Active Tennessee RN license with no disciplinary actions
- BSN degree preferred; ADN candidates with 2+ years experience considered
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required (PALS preferred)
- Minimum 1 year acute care experience in medical-surgical or telemetry setting
- Proficiency in electronic health records (Epic preferred)
- Strong critical thinking skills with ability to prioritize complex caseloads
- Exceptional communication skills for patient/family interactions and handoffs
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
