Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including physical, psychological, and social aspects, to develop individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, accurately documenting all actions and patient responses.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient vital signs, symptoms, and progress, promptly reporting any significant changes or concerns to the healthcare team.
  • Educate patients and their families on health conditions, medication management, self-care techniques, and discharge instructions.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records within the electronic health record (EHR) system, ensuring confidentiality and compliance.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and holistic patient care.
  • Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards, including infection control and safety protocols.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to medical emergencies, providing critical care interventions as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Kentucky.
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of recent clinical nursing experience in an acute care or equivalent setting.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
