Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including physical, psychological, and social aspects, to develop individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, accurately documenting all actions and patient responses.
- Monitor and evaluate patient vital signs, symptoms, and progress, promptly reporting any significant changes or concerns to the healthcare team.
- Educate patients and their families on health conditions, medication management, self-care techniques, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records within the electronic health record (EHR) system, ensuring confidentiality and compliance.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and holistic patient care.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards, including infection control and safety protocols.
- Respond promptly and effectively to medical emergencies, providing critical care interventions as necessary.
Qualifications
- Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Kentucky.
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of recent clinical nursing experience in an acute care or equivalent setting.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
- Demonstrated strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build rapport with patients and colleagues.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems; experience with [Specific EHR System, e.g., Epic, Cerner] is a plus.
- Ability to work flexible part-time hours, including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.
