Responsibilities
- Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment according to strict protocols
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Set up operating rooms with required supplies and equipment for scheduled cases
- Monitor inventory levels and restock supplies to ensure seamless surgical workflows
- Document procedural activities accurately in electronic health records
- Collaborate with nurses and anesthesiologists to optimize patient safety
- Maintain compliance with OSHA and Joint Commission standards
Qualifications
- Current Surgical Technologist certification (CST) required
- Minimum 1 year of recent surgical tech experience in OR setting
- Knowledge of sterile processing and aseptic techniques
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure emergency situations
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Flexibility to cover various surgical specialties (ortho, general, etc.)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 25+ lbs
