Responsibilities
- Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies according to strict protocols
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, sutures, and sterile supplies
- Maintain sterile field integrity and enforce aseptic techniques throughout surgical cases
- Prepare operating rooms, positioning patients, and draping sterile fields
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after procedures
- Document procedural events and inventory in electronic health records
- Collaborate with RNs and anesthesia teams for seamless patient care
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or graduate of accredited surgical tech program
- Minimum 1 year recent operating room experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing and sterilization methods
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced surgical environments
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts
- Proficient with surgical equipment and instrumentation
