Responsibilities
- Assist Surgeons: Pass instruments, sutures, and sterile supplies to surgeons during procedures with precision.
- Instrument Care: Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after surgery to ensure patient safety.
- Room Preparation: Prepare operating rooms and sterilize medical equipment and instruments.
- Patient Support: Position patients correctly on the operating table and ensure their safety and comfort.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of supplies used and assist with turnover between surgeries.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with nurses, anesthesiologists, and surgeons.
Qualifications
- Certification: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a hospital or surgical center setting preferred.
- Licensure: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, anatomy, and sterile techniques.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain focus in fast-paced environments and adhere to strict protocols.
